Brixton or Bust . . .

April 22, 2011 By Whitney Love Leave a Comment

I mentioned last week that I’d been away but thought I could be sneaky and not tell you where. For those of you who couldn’t figure it out based on this iconic image, I was in England.

I spent the weekend in Brixton, a district in south London known for being one of the first predominantly African Caribbean neighborhoods in London. Unfortunately though, I brought my old school digital camera and somehow managed to damage it in the transit back to Norway and only have a few surviving photos. None of course which were taken in the Brixton Village Market, drop point for the food culture in Brixton. Rather then get mad, I say darn. Darn, darn, darn. Good thing I’m taking my DSLR bad boy camera back to London this weekend.

Of the photos that survived the trip back, here is my Brixton favorite, taken in Brixton Square near the Ritz Theatre.
