Buttermilk Powder Product Review
Ever feel like making buttermilk pancakes and can’t find (or rather don’t have) buttermilk on hand? Forgot buttermilk at the store and now you can’t make your famous buttermilk ranch dressing for your summer salad? Yeah I know, I also HATE it when I am missing an ingredient for a recipe (especially one that I have already started making) or when I need a small amount of one single ingredient that I don’t necessarily use all that often. That’s where a product like buttermilk powder comes in and is pretty handy to keep around. When you have a product like buttermilk powder on hand, you never – ever – have to worry about making buttermilk with lemon juice (which one never seems to have on hand when one needs it for making buttermilk!) or forgetting it at the store, again.
What I love so much about buttermilk powder is that it very convenient to use, tastes FANTASTIC and is pretty inexpensive. I use buttermilk powder to make buttermilk for marinades, salad dressings, biscuits, and pancakes or anytime a baked item needs a lift.
To turn the powder into buttermilk, simply measure out the powder into a jar add the water, put the lid on and shake. Allow the mixture to rest about 5 minutes before using. The result will be clump free buttermilk!
