Marked i Sentrum, Stavanger’s newest farmer’s market location, kicked off on April 5 to much local fan fair. Marked i Sentrum hopes to offer the city more locally produced foodstuffs and operate as a place that celebrates Rogaland’s contributions to the food culture in Norway.
Opening hours are 10-15:00 at the open farmers market and one can not only buy baked goods from organic bakers, but buy farm fresh eggs, shellfish and other seafood as well as coffee, cheeses, chocolates and other goodies. Here are some of my photos from opening day on April 5.
- My two shopping companions – the happiest woman I know and the kindest man in Norway!
- Local eggs and fresh beets
- Fresh seafood
- Offerings from the Fish Market
- Freshly baked bread
- Happy shiny people – selling olive oil
- Ryfylke Salmon
- Suldal Skinke
- Karl Eirik Pallesen from the Fisketorget
- Various gift ideas including coffee and chocolates
- One of our city’s great story tellers next to my viking.
