Last Wednesday some friends of mine and I went on the Stavanger Wine Festival’s “Route de Vin” tour. The concept is that you (and 40 of your newest friends) travel in a group to 13 different restaurants around downtown for a taste of wine, a small bite to eat and an introduction to the wine by the wine producer. That’s 13 wine tasting size glasses of wine and 13 different appetizer size snacks spread out over a couple of hours. Not a bad way to speand a Wednesday evening, not bad at all.
There is also a two question quiz at each destination-all wine related questions of course.
The man above is famed chef Arne Brimi (I found this out after some research). He’s quite famous for a special kind of restaurant in Vågå, Ottadalen, Norway where the guests have to travel the last couple of hundred meters to the restaurant by foot (meaning that there is no parking lot just outside) and enjoy dishes prepared with local ingredients.
