Wallace and Co. in Putney, London

September 1, 2010 By Whitney Love 2 Comments

I’ve mentioned a few times already that I’m working on my MBA at the moment and how now as a result, I’m in full exam modus. I guess you also noticed that as I haven’t been posting all that much in the last few days (or maybe not….)…

The University I attend is in the UK, not too far from the capital city, London. One of the things I love about major cities is finding or being introduced to local joints, lovely little places that make having a meal relaxing and cosy. Wallace and Co. in the Putney area of London is one such place.

Filled with lightly colored decor, friendly staff and traditional but tasty menu items, this place is well worth checking out if you are in the area.

It’s also home to my first bubble and squeak (think hashbrowns made with potatoes and cabbage) and a chic serving innovation that made me think-“wow-cute, I’ll try that at home”.

Le Menu

I love the idea of serving sauces in petite, little jars instead of messy half filled jars. I don’t know why by half filled jars look much more chic than half filled bottles.

I also want one of these for my kitchen.

I’ve never had an Irish or Scottish breakfast but the English one is great-especially after a night out 🙂

What’s incredible to me about English Breakfast is that it’s … exactly the same as Scottish and/or Irish Breakfast. Although they’ll tell you it’s not.

The vegetarian option is, of course, the only way to eat the stuff!

If you happen to find that periodic table of vegetables, do let me know – I, too, would love to have one!

    Luck to your exams!
