Summer (and most of the year around here) means lots of fresh salads, which in turn means loads of homemade salad dressing! One of my favorite salad dressings is an American variety called “ranch” which can be found in every grocery store in the U.S. Ranch salad dressing is made even tastier with the tang of buttermilk, due to its sour creaminess. In Norway, I like to keep my own dry ranch dressing mix on hand year-round and combine it with mayo and regular milk when I feel like my salads need some creamy (homemade) goodness.
- 30g (1/4 cup) dry buttermilk powder
- 3 tablespoons dried onion powder
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon celery salt
- ½ teaspoon white pepper, ground
- ¼ teaspoon paprika powder
- ¼ teaspoon dried dill
- Add all ingredients to a dry, clean glass jar or an air-tight plastic container and place the lid on the container.
- Shake the container to mix and store mix in a cool, dry place.

Hi Whitney! That looks & sounds delicious. Is it possible to get dried buttermilk powder in Norway? Thanks!
I haven’t seen it yet so I normally buy mine from iHerb. 🙂
